RetailTower win one of ten international scholarships to Launch Conference 2012 in San Francisco

MEST, Wednesday March 7th 2012

RetailTower, a SaaS product that helps merchants list and market their products online, have won a scholarship place in the Demo Pit at the Launch Conference 2012. They will be be one of 40 companies demoing their product which provides a single point of integration between existing ecommerce platforms and comparison-shopping engines, it allows online merchants to submit product feeds, optimize and manage their products on shopping engines. The ability to easily create a store on their merchants Facebook fan pages has just been launched.

Launch Conference is the brainchild of Jason Calacanis, who started the conference only last year. Jason offers the chance for 10 companies to attend the event and have a stand in the demo pit with no fee. This scholarship allows for international companies to be present who may not otherwise be able to afford to fund the entire event themselves.

Blaise Bayuo, Co – Founder and CEO of RetailTower, has travelled to the US from his native Ghana for a 3 week tour which will involve the Launch event, SXSW, strategic business and partnership meetings and will be rounded up with a mixer event at Meltwater’s HQ on 20th March (save the date!).

Blaise founded the company in May 2010 along with his team members, Nii Noi, Rinkard and Samuel. The team had just graduated from Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) after 2 years in the program and were successful in receiving funding from the Meltwater Foundation and a place, where they currently sit, in the MEST Incubator based in Accra, Ghana.

All of the development on RetailTower has been done in Ghana and the team is extremely proud to be working with over 1500 merchants spread over the world, with most of these being based in the US.

Last year Nandimobile, another MEST Incubator company won the BEST Business Award at Launch after their CEO Anne Amuzu made an unexpected pitch on stage and educated the judging panel about their product offers solutions to meet mobile marketing, and customer support needs.

The Launch event will take place today and tomorrow in San Fran and the next stop for Blaise and the RetailTower tour is Austin, Texas to check out SXSW from Friday 9th March.
